As your coach, I am absolutely not the expert in your field of work- so I won’t be bringing specialist advice- or even telling you ‘what I would do in your shoes’ (because after all, I have never been in your shoes so how would I know what it’s like in there?)
Instead, my role is to facilitate a conversation which helps you to think differently about a challenge or scenario that’s important to you, envision clearly the goal you want to get to, and emerge with greater clarity, confidence and purpose around how to get there.
How will I make sure that happens? Well- by being 100% present in the room, bringing to our interaction my experience and expertise as a coach. Which I would sum up by saying that…
My coaching approach is..
-
Patient but purposeful
-
Structured but flexible
-
Driven by what’s important to you- either a pre-arranged agenda, or whatever you bring on the day.
The Skills I draw upon are...
-
A light-touch to our conversation from the outset- getting to know and trust each other as the basis for our work together.
-
Probing questioning- to help us ‘get the jigsaw pieces on the table’ and gain a shared understanding of the challenge we want to address together
-
Active listening- a ‘seive’ which reveals the crux of the challenge
-
Structuring our conversation towards a natural and positive ending
What I enjoy most is...
-
The privilege of being invited into your ‘world’
-
Being in the state of flow, as we work through a situation together
-
Knowing when I have helped you to achieve a moment of clarity
-
Days weeks or years later.. learning of how our work together made a difference. ‘I still remember that conversation when….’
I believe a successful coaching relationship to be one where..
-
I have helped you to achieve a clear perspective on your situation
-
You feel ‘unblocked’ and freed after our conversation or sessions
-
You’ve done most of the talking- my role has been to help you think more clearly
